Lewis! Call me!

My week so far has had more highlights than a sullen teenager's copy of Catcher in the Rye. Sunday night Tara brought over her new "special friend"...TODD MELTON!!! THE Todd Melton!!! I know that nobody who didn't grow up in my hometown knows who that is but let me say he was (and still is) one of the foxiest, nicest, funniest and best all around young men to come out of that armpit of a town.
The four of us had dinner, and I drank an entire bottle of red wine while the three of us got nostalgic about the past and Troy listened, helpless. Needless to say I got drunkedy drunk drunk, and Todd surmised that yes, I had changed a lot since high school, but could still get wasted like a champ. It was reassuring.

Then I got a DVD from my dad. It was old home movies, circa 1989-90. I was Twelve, and was pretty much amazed that my boobies were ever that small. I just love the word boobies, by the way. You can't hear it and not giggle.

Boobies. There, see?
It was so funny to see my brother before the six years he wore braces! My bad perm and love of plastic bead necklaces, turtlenecks, and ponytails on top of my head. Sometimes a little on the side a` la Tiffany Amber-Thessin. Or whoever. At one point I realized that THIS was the video where I swore to my parents that I would Still love New Kids on The Block for the next Twenty-five years. Which stunned me because last weekend at the flea market I bought Hangin' Tough on CD for a dollar. Ten more years to go!

I know I talk about Television a LOT, but I just want to say that last night's Law & Order SVU made me feel totally vindicated about overbearing mothers who try to protect their children from the media. Don't bother because if you do they'll turn out to be punks just to spite you. And Lewis Black guest-starred. I adore him! I know we have to be related somehow, I get all twitchy and say "fuck" a lot when I'm ranting too!
